Meet our Team

Shawn Witt

Clinical Director

As a trauma survivor  herself, Shawn had the vision no person should ever feel alone in their recovery, which prompted her to embark on her therapeutic journey. Obtaining her Master’s in the psychoanalytic discipline from Northwestern University, she became an LPC, and specialized in trauma, personality disorders and addiction. Practicing Level Two EMDR techniques both in her private practice and as the Clinical Director of Perimeter Treatment Center in Sandy Springs, GA, she provides group therapy and long-term treatment options in a personalized setting, for those healing from mental health issues related to trauma and addiction.
Shawn, author of Healing Trauma Through the 12 Steps, often lectures throughout Georgia on trauma and recovery, introducing others to her innovative approach to trauma therapy with a unique connection to community. These experiences motivated her to establish TraumAnon, a peer-led, 12-step trauma support group. Founded in 2019, TraumAnon now has an over 9,000-member community spanning across the U.S. and multiple other countries. Shawn was elected to the LPCA Board of Directors, serving as the Communications Chair, in 2026. She has been a guest speaker at the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network Conference and hosts certifications and training throughout Georgia. She is a CPS and an FPM (Forensic Peer Mentor).

Comprehensive Mental Health and Co-Occurring Care

Perimeter Treatment Center provides comprehensive mental health and co-occurring care, with individualized outpatient support for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, substance use concerns, and related conditions. We begin with a compassionate assessment to understand your current concerns, symptoms, and treatment goals. From there, our team develops a personalized plan that may include evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, MBSR, medication management, and wellness coaching.

Throughout treatment, we focus on helping you build practical skills, understand patterns, manage emotions, and strengthen long-term wellness. When appropriate, we can also connect you with continued therapy, structured programs such as PHP or IOP, and other supportive resources.

Our Team-Based Approach to Mental Health and Recovery

At Perimeter Treatment Center, our team works together to provide individualized outpatient care for mental health concerns, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. Our approach brings clinical expertise, medical support, therapy, and compassionate guidance together so that each client receives care based on their individual needs rather than a one-size-fits-all program.

Our clinicians and support professionals help individuals address concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, emotional dysregulation, substance use, and related challenges. Treatment may include evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based strategies, medication management when appropriate, and ongoing therapeutic support.
